OYUN STUDENT ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO NEW LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN
The executive team of the Oyun Student Association (OSA), led by the dynamic and visionary leader, Sen. Comr. Adeshina Sodiq Abubakar, paid a courtesy visit to the newly elected Chairman of Oyun Local Government, Hon. Comr. Kamaludeen Olarewaju, on 30/10/24. The visit was aimed at fostering a harmonious relationship between the association and the local government, as well as seeking support for the union's programs and activities.
The meeting, which took place at the local government secretariat, was attended by the legislative arms of government, representatives from the Department of Education, and other stakeholders. President Sen. Ayoola, in his congratulatory speech, commended Chairman Olarewaju and the entire legislature on their emergence and assumption of office.
Sen. Ayoola took the opportunity to introduce the Oyun Student Association to the local government, highlighting its importance as the largest organization in Oyun Local Government. He explained the association's objectives, which include promoting academic excellence, fostering unity among students, and enhancing the overall well-being of students in the local government.
The president outlined the association's forthcoming programs, designed to engage students and promote educational development. These programs include:
1. Quiz and Debate Competitions: To encourage intellectual growth and healthy competition among students.
2. Excursions: To explore educational destinations and broaden students' knowledge.
3. IFESOWAPO Week: A cultural celebration promoting unity and heritage.
4. AREWA Contest: Fostering creativity and innovation.
Chairman Olarewaju, in his response, warmly welcomed the OSANHQ executive team to the local government. He expressed his delight in meeting with the association and commended their efforts in promoting education and youth development. The chairman pledged his administration's support for the association's programs and activities, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the local government and stakeholders.
